Minimal System Instruments is a VST(i) plugin developer which creates absolutely top of the line products for the novice, intermediate, and advanced music producer and/or DJ. Minimal System Instruments specializes in plugins for mixing and mastering audio including compressors, EQ's, gates, reverb's, and channel strips. We also produce synths and effects including filters, delays, and virtual analogue synths. Minimal System Instruments are heavily involved in the world of music production and we understand that many musicians, DJ's, and producers are on limited budgets when it comes to purchasing software and equipment. For this reason Minimal System Instruments likes to keep the cost of MSI plugins as low as possible whilst maintaining the very best sound and GUI quality. Minimal System Instruments firmly believe that professional studio plugins should be accessible to all.
Mastering
Minimal System also offer a high end mastering service. This service is offered at low cost but extremely high quality. Again, Minimal System Instruments believe that high quality mastering should not be out of reach to today's producers. With a large amount of insight into the technical elements of mastering processors and successful releases on numerous labels over the years Minimal System Instruments can add that sparkle that your tracks need prior to release. Who are we?
Minimal System Instruments was set up in early 2010 by electronic music producer and DJ Paul Willocks. Paul was creating his own plugins when working on tracks and after receiving positive feedback decided to release his creations to a wider audience.
Paul Willocks
Paul has been producing music for around 15 years under various guises, most recently under the moniker 'Tech Star' and also 'Mode 5'. Paul produces Minimal/Detroit/Deep Techno and releases music on the fantastic Twisted Beats label and hosts a weekly Techno radio show (Deep Techno Sessions) every Friday between 8pm and 10pm.

Paul's Music
Paul writes and produces under the alter-egos of Tech Star and Mode 5. You can hear Paul's productions by visiting his SoundCloud page. Many of his tracks make extensive use of Minimal System Instruments plugins and also benefit from the Minimal System Instruments mastering service. Paul's tracks serve as great demos of the services offered by MSi.

'I Just wanted to let you guys know, your plug-ins astound me. I was hooked on the Waves SSL and API collections, and honestly those are some of the only plug-ins that I even own, but your SSi Pro Compressor and “Punch” are both absolutely fantastic. I stumbled across the plug-ins when searching for some cheaper VST compressors for Windows. I found Minimal System Instruments and thought I’d give them a try and compare them against some of the Waves stuff I had already purchased. They sound great, look great, operate like the real thing. I compared the Punch compressor to a track recorded with a real 1176, and it sounded almost identical. Granted, the real 1176 was a bit darker (just because the one I used was older than me!) but that is just a matter of using your EQ plug-in to filter out some high end. Pro grade stuff, really. I am completely sold.

I am not saying this just to be kind but I actually have quite a large amount of EQ plugins, and although they all sound different the SSi Pro EQ compares to some of the most renowned plugins I own. Minimal System Instruments always find room for something special and unique.
